The Kahoks, who finished the regular season 19-15 overall and 8-6 in the Southwestern Conference, split two games with the Lancers this year. Each team on its own field. Collinsville won 5-4 April 17, and Belleville East got the best of the Kahoks 4-3 on May 19.

Ace Tanner Houck could be the one to pave the way to the Regional championship game for the Kahoks, though Collinsville Head Coach Pete Trapp would not confirm his starting pitcher.

Mizzou recruit Houck, who is 6-3 on the year, has not faced the Lancers this season. Kyle Reeves got the victory April 17, and Zack Mathes started the May 19 game.

Third seed Belleville East finished the season 17-13 overall and were also 8-6 in SWC play. The Lancers’ record in their past five games is 4-1. They scored 39 runs during that stretch while allowing 26.

After winning three in a row, second seed Collinsville lost three of four to close the season, including the loss to Belleville East on May 19.

The winner will play Belleville West for the championship. The Maroons shocked top seed O’Fallon 2-1 Wednesday. The Panthers entered the game 32-3. Belleville West, 16-16 won a play-in game against Granite City for the right to face top-seeded O’Fallon.

Collinsville is 2-0 against the Maroons this season, winning 2-0 and 7-0.

The Regional championship will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31. All games are played at Belleville East High School.
