Nighttime lane closure Wednesday on Interstate 270

One lane of eastbound Interstate 270, at the Chain of Rocks Canal, will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced. The lane closure is scheduled to end by 5 a.m. Thursday and is to allow construction to continue on the new canal bridge.

Kreitner celebrates 15th annual Cinco de Mayo festival

Hundreds of people packed the Kreitner Elementary School gym Monday for the school’s 15th annual Cinco de Mayo Festival and Celebration.
