The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged a former Caseyville police officer with aggravated unlawful restraint, a class 3 felony.

Collinsville police arrested Jeffrey W. Wilkinson in the early morning hours Friday in the 1000 block of Hickory Point, Collinsville. Police were called to the residence by a female. Records show that Wilkinson’s wife is a resident of the home at which he was arrested.

As reported in a previous story , Wilkinson was originally charged with domestic battery and aggravated assault. After reviewing the charges, the Madison County State’s Attorney upgraded the aggravated assault charge to aggravated unlawful restraint.
