Intoxicated 911 caller punches responding officer

A 53-year-old Collinsville woman faces two felony charges after allegedly making multiple 911 calls while intoxicated, cursing the dispatcher and punching a police officer while being arrested.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERACaseyville Police arrested Lisa Smith, of the 100 block of Oakwood Drive in Collinsville, on Nov. 21. The St. Clair County States Attorney’s office charged Smith with aggravated battery, a class 2 felony, and disorderly conduct, a class 4 felony, on Saturday, Nov. 23.

The disorderly conduct charge is Smith’s third in St. Clair County in 2013. Smith had been on probation for eight days at the time of the incident.

Later on Nov. 21, Caseyville police discovered a vehicle in the America’s Best Inn that was reported stolen. With the assistance of the Fairview Heights Police Department, the suspect of the stolen vehicle was located in the hotel.

Subsequent to a search after arrest, Caseyville officers found a large amount of cannabis that allegedly belonged to the suspect, Max Allen, 33, of Houston, Texas. The St. Clair State’s Attorney’s Office charged Allen with unlawful possession of cannabis, a class 4 felony.

Allen is being held at the St. Clair County Jail for want of bond.
