Three Collinsville area residents have been charged with the Feb. 2011 armed robbery of a State Park Place convenience story. The three were previously charged for the Aug. 2011 burglary of the Collinsville Imo’s.

Samantha R. Rogers, 25, Jacob R. Niemeier, 21, and Brendan J. Toebe, 25, all of Collinsville, were charged Friday with felony armed robbery and felony aggravated robbery.  The three are accused of participating in the robbery of the Trading Post Convenience Store on Collinsville Road in State Park Place, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said.

“We are excited to make the case,” Captain Mike Dixon said. “It’s not often you get to make a case after almost three years.” The statute of limitations for robbery is three years, Dixon said.

A caller to the department’s anonymous tip line led police to Niemeier and Rogers. Investigators later developed evidence tying the two, and Toebe, to the case also. All three are in custody in Madison County Jail. No court dates have been set for the latest charges.

On Feb. 20, 2011, a clerk at the Trading Post reported to police that two masked men, one carrying a type of handgun, came into the store and demanded money. After the clerk complied, the two men left. The gun was later determined to be an Airsoft pistol.

Toebe and Niemeier are believed to be the masked men, with Rogers acting as a lookout.

The three were previously charged, along with a fourth man, of burglarizing the Imo’s on Keebler in Collinsville on Aug 31,2011. Niemeier pled guilty to a felony burglary charge in July and was sentenced to 30 months of probation, 100 hours of public service and $3,200 in restitution and fees, Stephanee Smith, of the Madison County State’s Attorney, said.

Toebe’s case in the Imo’s incident is still pending. Rogers’ case was on hold while she participated in the Madison County Drug Court, but the charges have now been re-opened. Rogers is also facing two felony charges of drug possession.
