Collinsville organization seeks to recognize exceptional business associates

Collinsville Progress is accepting nominations for its new Paul Miller Business Associate of the Month award. The monthly designation is awarded to a business associate who provides outstanding service in one or more of the following areas:

• Friendly and courteous to customers
• Displays exceptional service to the public
• Dedicated and conscientious in their job performance
• Displays a strong moral character
• Involved in civic activities or organizations
• Outstanding achievement to the City of Collinsville

Anyone is able to nominate an individual they deem worthy of the recognition. Forms are available at the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce, Collinsville City Hall, Collinsville Area Recreation District, and the Collinsville Progress Facebook page.

Paul Miller was employed at Gauen Lumber Co. in Collinsville from 1950 to 1971. Miller and Leo Maack founded Miller & Maack General Contractors, in Collinsville, in 1971.

Miller served as an active member of many groups, including St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ in Collinsville, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, the Ainad Temple Shriners; was a past president of the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, and a long-time member of Collinsville Progress. His contributions to the community were many and he believed that an efficient, knowledgeable and friendly staff were an integral part of any business.

Collinsville Progress is the community development arm of the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of Collinsville Progress is to make the Collinsville Community more attractive and appealing to potential business and residents and to sponsor projects for the improvement and enjoyment of its citizens.
