The Village of Caseyville is hosting a 5K run, kids fun run and bonfire at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Those who register by Oct. 1 will receive a discount and a free t-shirt.

The flat, 5K course begins at the VFW (401 N. Long St.), continues through town and Caseyville Park, and concludes behind the VFW. Early registration fee is $20, late and same day registration $25. Prizes are awarded to the top overall male and female finishers and to three finishers in each division.

A kids fun run, named the Oogle Moogle Monster Mash Dash as part of a previous contest, is a non-competitive run held within Caseyville Park. Early registration is $8, late and same day registration is $10.

Registration is also available for the Lawn Chair Support Team. Members get an event t-shirt, bring their own lawn chair and sit at the finish. Early registration if $16, late and same day registration is $20.

The post-race bonfire will feature a DJ, activities for kids and hot dogs.

Mailed entry forms must be post-marked by Oct. 1. Same day registration begins at 3 p.m. at the VFW. Kids fun run registration ends at 4:15 p.m. The 5K registration ends at 4:45 p.m.
