Police and firefighters will commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attacks, and honor their colleagues who died during the attacks, today at Monks Mound.
During the ceremony, that begins at 5 p.m., firefighters and police will make multiple trips up and down the steps of Monks Mound in remembrance of those who traveled the steps of the World Trade Center towers to rescue people from the burning buildings.
