Anyone planning to travel from the Metro East into St. Louis this weekend will not be able to do so on Interstate 55/70.

All westbound lanes of the interstate will be closed from Illinois Route 203 to the interstates 55/70/64 split beginning at 9 p.m. tonight. All lanes are expected to re-open by 5 a.m. Monday, weather permitting.

All westbound traffic will be detoured to southbound Interstate 255, to westbound Interstate 64 to westbound interstates 55/70/64.

The closure is to resurface the existing lanes.
