A thick layer of sleet has blanketed the Collinsville area, but the predicted snow has yet to blanket Kahok Stadium, that should change within the next 2-3 hours.

In a departure from normal, the long-range forecast appears to be holding, with sleet moving through the area before the snow moves in after noon. Projections from the National Weather Service, at 10:30 a.m., call for 1-3 inches of snow and sleet accumulation today and an additional 2-4 inches of snow overnight.

The Illinois Department of Transportation is reported snow and ice covered roadways in the area, but no major incidents.
