The Collinsville Police Department announced that it will be increasing patrols until Nov. 30 in an effort to reduce traffic accidents and injuries during the start of the holiday season.

In conjunction with the Illinois Department of  Transportation, the Collinsville Police Department will enforce DUI, seat belt and  mobile phone usage violations. The department will adopt a zero tolerance approach.

The CPD encourages everyone to wear a seat belt, stay off cell phones and designate a sober driver.
