Collinsville electronics and appliance recycling extended through 2014

The electronics and appliance recycling events have been extended through 2014.

weCycleWeCycle-Belleville will accept old electronics and appliances in the public parking lot at Main and Seminary in uptown Collinsville from Noon to 6 p.m. the second Friday of each month, through 2014.

WeCycle-Belleville donates the proceeds they receive from recycling the items to the Miner’s Institute Foundation for the preservation, restoration and reopening of the Miner’s Theatre.

Some items accepted are:

Computer related items: Computer towers, one CRT monitor per computer tower, laptops, printers, keyboards, mice, modems, CD ROMs, computer fans, memory RAM, other misc. computer parts (CRT boards, power supplies, CPU’s)

Electronics: VCRs, DVD players, CD players, stereo receivers/components, speakers, NiCad batteries

Appliances: Washers/dryers, dishwashers, small appliances

Televisions: * We-Cycle Belleville no longer accepts CRT TV’s, but does accept flat screen televisions and monitors

Batteries: NiCad, NiMh, car batteries, alkaline batteries (Ex. AA, AAA), lithium)
