Munoz, 33, was an educational assistant, head boys golf coach and assistant baseball coach at Collinsville High School. Assistant Chief Tom Coppotelli, of the Collinsville Police Department, confirmed that anĀ investigation is ongoing involving Munoz, but could not confirm the nature of the complaint against the former instructor.

“We do not comment on pending investigations,” Coppotelli said.

No charges have been filed against Munoz, who could not be reached for comment.

Unit 10 Superintendent Bob Green said he could not comment on why Munoz was terminated, but said that, although charges have not yet been filed, the action by the School Board was not premature.

“Sometimes the standards for prosecution in a court of law are higher than for employment action,” Green said.

Munoz also spent three seasons as the head boys golf coach and also served as the freshman baseball coach.
