The event this year will be held in Collinsville on Saturday, May 31 from 9:00 a.m. – noon at the Home Federal Savings & Loan, 100 E. Clay St. The public is invited to donate a non-perishable canned food item and then securely dispose of unwanted confidential and personal documents – such as tax records, financial records and medical information – via a professional shred truck located on the bank’s parking lot.  There will be a limit of ten boxes of items to be shredded per person and no electronics will be accepted.

Home Federal employees will collect all donated food and deliver it to the Collinsville Food Pantry, Maryville Outreach Center and Ministries Unlimited in Troy.

“Combining our Shred Day with our Food Drive helps address two community needs at the same time,” said Kim Reising, manager of Home Federal’s Maryville branch.  “The large response from the public at these combined events compels us to continue making this opportunity available.”
