Four wrestlers from the Junior Kahoks wrestling program will wrestle at the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation State Tournament this weekend.
Eight graders Patrick Grzywacz, Alfred McIntosh and Aaron Engle will be joined by 7th grader Sam Blaha at the BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill. for the two-day tournament that begins Friday.
Grzywacz (108 pounds) won the South Sectional to qualify for the State tournament and earned a first-round bye. Engle (138 pounds) and MacIntosh (275 pounds) finished second in the sectional. Blaha (115 pounds)qualified with a 3rd place finish.
Tom Blaha and Mike Mathews are coaches for the program,which is in only its third year. Blaha is the wrestling coach at Collinsville High School and Mathews is the coach at Collinsville Middle School.
