The Kahoks football team visited Dorris Intermediate School on Jan. 30 to perform demonstrations and answer questions as part of the school’s “Science of the Super Bowl” event.

The players spent time demonstrating scientific principles, such as force and torque, and how they apply to tackling, throwing and kicking. Participants got an up-close look at the science behind tackling and not only observed, but also participated in kicking and throwing demonstrations.

Collinsville High School juniors Jordan Miller, Tim Burke, Josh Burns and Eric Finch were joined at the event by sophomores Tanner Hails, Jeremiah Danford, Dorian Wren, Jacob Gass, Jordan Reichert and Nathan Jackstadt, as well as freshmen Sean Bonham, Tyler Callahan.

The players and students finished the event with a friendly game of touch football.

The Kahoks football program, coaches and players would like to thank Jason Watt and the DIS staff for inviting us and allowing us to share in their program. We look forward to attending every year.
