CHS announces monthly student awards for October and November

Collinsville High School has announced its seniors, students and athletes of the month for October and November 2013.

Senior of the Month for October – Taylor Dalley

Taylor Dalley was honored for her volunteer service with the Metro East Humane Society and her early admission to the Vet Tech Institute at Hickey College in St. Louis.

Senior of the Month for November – Gabrielle Hodges

Gabrielle Hodges was honored for being awarded the EXPLORE Energy shadowing experience with Ameren. She is one of 24 students chosen to take part in the program and the only student from an Illinois school.

Student of the Month for October – Cady Menk

Cady Menk was honored for her leadership activities in Kahoks Against Drugs and Alcohol and the class of 2016.

Students of the Month for November – Brixanna Barbarotto and Tarjai Williams

Brixanna Barbarotto was honored for her integrity and citizenship, putting her school and classmates first.

Athletes of the Month for October – Olivia Scaturro and Maddie Swiecicki

Olivia Scaturro and Maddie Swiecicki were honored for being the first CHS tennis doubles team to go to state. They qualified by finishing third at sectionals. They were also second-team all-Southwestern Conference selections and were recognized as members of an all-conference team that also sustained a 3.5 or better GPA.

Athlete of the Month for November – Keenai Sampson

Keenai medaled in every tournament in which he has played. He was a state qualifier, finishing in the top 20. He was also selected to the Southwestern Conference first team and the Metro East Golf Coaches Associations Player of the Year. He was also recognized as a member of an all-conference team that also sustained a 3.5 or better GPA.
