Charles JK Sparks wanted by Collinsville Police

Collinsville Police are searching for a man accused of kicking in the door of a home in the 800 block of Watt Street, Collinsville, and holding a knife to the throat of a female occupant.

Police said Charles JK Sparks, 43, of the 1300 block of Bridal Spur, Troy, fled the scene when the woman’s roommate called police. The incident occurred at about 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. The victim is Sparks’ former girlfriend.

Sparks is 5-foot 7-inches and 185 pounds. He should be considered violent, armed and dangerous, Collinsville Police said. No attempt should be made to contact or detain Sparks, Detective Bud Jeremias said.

Anyone with information about Sparks’ whereabouts should contact the Collinsville Police Department at 618-344-2131, Ext. 0. Sparks is known to have connections in Collinsville, Troy and Granite City.

Sparks was charged with felony home invasion with a dangerous weapon, a Class X felony, on Oct. 31. Bond has been set at $100,000. He is currently wanted on multiple warrants, Jeremias said.

    Per the Collinsville Police Department Facebook page on 11/24/13: “Sparks is in custody. He was apprehended by members of the Collinsville Police Department Patrol Division.”
