Beginning tonight at 9 p.m., all eastbound lanes of Interstate 64, from the split at interstates 55/70/64 to 18th Street in East St. Louis will be closed, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

No eastbound Interstate 64 traffic will be allowed east of the interstates 55/70/64 split. The lanes are expected to re-open at 9 a.m., Monday, Sept. 23.

Eastbound traffic on interstates 55/70 will be routed to southbound Interstate 255, IDOT announced.

The closure is to allow reconstruction of ramps in the are and resurfacing existing lanes.
