The tenth annual Walk to Help Children with Dyslexia will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in Belleville.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. for the three or five-mile walk, which will begin and end at the Children’s Dyslexia Center at the Scottish Rite building, 1549 Frank Scott Parkway West.

The entry fee before Oct. 7 is $20 per adult and $15 per child under age 12, and includes a commemorative T-shirt. After Oct. 7, the fee is $22 per adult and $17 per child. Those who prefer not to participate may be a “phantom walker” and receive a T-shirt for a minimum $30 donation or they may sponsor a child.

All proceeds will support the Children’s Dyslexia Center, which helps elementary and high school students overcome the challenges of reading and writing at no charge to their families. Now in its eleventh year of operation, approximately 162 students from throughout Southern Illinois have been served and more than 65 tutors trained at the Belleville center.

For more information about the walk or a variety of available sponsorship opportunities, call 618-235-9392 or 618-535-3350, or e-mail director@SRIL092.com.
