Caniece D. Johnson, 27, of Brazoria, Tex., was charged today in Madison County of a Class X felony for armed robbery for allegedly pulling a knife on a woman at about 3:52 p.m. Sunday and stealing her purse. A witness was able to wrestle the victim’s purse from Johnson.

After returning home to Brazoria, Johnson told others that she had committed the robbery, Major Rich Wittenauer of the Collinsville Police said. Johnson later turned herself in at the Brazoria County Jail, where she confessed to detectives that she had committed the armed robbery in Collinsville.
