Seven runs in the final two innings pushed Collinsville past Roxana in girls softball Saturday.

The Kahoks (15-13) scored a run in the bottom of the third when Paige Giacoletto doubled to center and scored on a Becky Gibbs RBI groundout. The Shells (4-21) scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth to tie the score.

Two errors by the Shells helped Collinsville score four fifth-inning runs. Caitlyn Brombolich, Kassidy Smith and Sarah Scrum had RBI hits in the inning. Kadie Ringering, Gibbs, Brombolich and Sarah Edrington – running for Smith – scored.

A three-run Kahok sixth inning put the game out of reach. Samantha Buettner led off the inning with a double and came around to score on another Giacoletto double. Gibbs doubled two batters later to score Giacoletto. Brombolich’s second RBI hit in two innings scored Gibbs.

Bost pitched a complete game, allowing one unearned run and four hits. The sophomore struck out nine and did not walk a batter. Collinsville Head Coach Cindy Kolda said Bost and battery mate Smith worked well together.

“Kass called a great game,” Kolda said. “Sidney Bost pitched a great game and mixed it up.”

Smith led Collinsville with a double and two singles. Gibbs, Brombolich and Giacoletto had two hits each. Buettner, Bost and Scrum each tallied a hit for the Kahoks.

Collinsville hosts Breese Mater Dei at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
