The Ohio Valley Conference champion Southern Illinois University Edwardsville softball program has announced its 2014 Summer Camp schedule, featuring two camps for July 15-16 and Aug. 17, respectively.

Both camps will be held on SIUE’s campus at Cougar Field on Stadium Drive.

The All-Skills Camp, held July 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, will focus on the fundamentals of offense, defense and base running. The camp is designed to develop softball skills while having fun. The cost of the camp is $150 and includes a camp T-shirt. Lunch will not be provided.

The Elite Camp will be held Aug. 17 for players entering grades 9-12. This camp, taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is designed for the advanced player who has a strong desire to play at the collegiate level. The cost is $125 and includes a camp T-shirt. Lunch will not be provided.

The parents of each camper will be required to complete a medical release form. An SIUE athletic trainer will be available at Cougar Field to assist with any minor injuries that may occur at the camps.

The SIUE softball team, which is coming off its first OVC Championship and NCAA Division I Regional appearance, collected 30 wins this past season. Campers will have the opportunity to interact and learn from the OVC champions and the SIUE coaching staff.
