After starting the season 9-3, Collinsville High School’s softball team has lost four straight, to fall to 9-7 on the season and 1-4 in the Southwestern Conference.
Edwardsville (17-2, 4-1 SWC) visited the Collinsville Jaycees sports complex Tuesday afternoon and won 11-1 in five innings. The Tigers scored at least one run in each inning, but never more than three.
Collinsville tallied its only run of the game in the third when Becky Gibbs led off with a double and came around to score on a Kassidy Smith double. The Kahoks managed only four hits during the game; two from Gibbs and one each from Smith and Holten.
The Kahoks will attempt to break their losing streak when they travel to Waterloo Wednesday for a 4:3 p.m. game.
