Five newly reconstructed tennis courts at Glidden Park are now open.
The courts were gutted and restructured as part of a $275,600 project that also included installation of a fence. The Metro East Park and Recreation District provided a grant of $68,900 for the project. Construction on the project began Aug. 5 and completed Oct. 25
Glidden Park sits on 30 acres at 398 Branch St., near Lebanon Road. Open from 9 am. to dusk daily, the park has an in-line hockey rink, soccer field and basketball court. A dirt race track for remote controlled cars and .4 mile walking track are also in the park, along with playground equipment and a sled hill.
