Maryville Police were called to the FCB Maryville Bank at about 5:18 p.m. Wednesday following the report of a robbery.
The robber showed the teller a note and was given an undisclosed amount of money, Maryville Police said. The robber fled the scene in a small, silver vehicle with no license plates, traveling south on Interstates 55/70.
The suspect was described as an African-American female wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a camouflaged ball cap. Maryville Police, the FBI and Caseyville Police immediately pursed the possibility that the suspect was the same person that robbed the FCB in Caseyville on Nov. 7, Maryville Police said.
The African-American female suspect in the Caseyville robbery wore similar clothing and a camouflaged ball cap. She fled the scene in a silver Nissan Versa, Caseyville Police said on Nov. 7. A 37-year-old Collinsville woman was identified as a suspect and later admitted to both robberies, Maryville Police said. She is currently being held in St. Clair County Jail pending federal charges. Her name will not be released until charges are filed.
Maryville Police are still searching for the suspects that attempted to burglarize an ATM at the same FCB Maryville location on Nov. 1.
