The area of State Park served by Collinsville water is under a boil under until further notice, the City of Collinsville said.
This also includes 9500, 9502, 9504 and 9510 Collinsville Rd., 30 Ramey St. and all Collinsville water customers on the north side of Collinsville Road, west of Interstate 255.
Water to be used for cooking or drinking should be brought to a full, rolling boil for five minutes.
Roger,
I too was recently under a boil water order from the City of Collinsville. I contacted them and asked if the ice being produced by refrigerators with automatic ice makers was safe to use. After checking with supervisors an employee called me back and said it was not. I then asked why this fact was never covered in the notice and suggested it should be. Apparently this suggestion has gone by the wayside unless you did not report it in your article above.
Another city nearby includes it in their notices. I wonder how many people at home and in restaurants are enjoying nice cold drinks with contaminated water? Maybe a future article on the topic?
