A Collinsville woman faces charges for heroin possession and prostitution after allegedly arranging to have sex with a man using a social network.

Sara LewisSara N. Lewis, 25, of the 300 block of Sycamore, called police on Oct. 28 after a disagreement with Daniel Albert in the New Athens area, Captain Scott Weymouth of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department said. When police arrived, Lewis asked them to help retrieve her items. A search of the items found a substance containing heroin, Weymouth said.

During the investigation, police developed evidence that the two had used a social network to arrange to have sex. Following an investigation, charges were not filed against Albert, 46, of the New Athens area.

Lewis was charged Wednesday with a Class 4 felony for possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance. She faces a Class A misdemeanor prostitution charge for allegedly agreeing to an act of sexual penetration in exchange for money.

Bond was set at $15,000 for Lewis, who is currently held in the St. Clair County Jail.
