Online activity led to three felony counts of child pornography against a Glen Carbon man.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Computer Crimes Unit on June 13 about online activity potentially associated with the sexual exploitation of a child. Investigators were able to link the activity to the home of Dennis L. Hettenhausen, 71, of the 10th block Glen Hollow Road.
The FBI, Glen Carbon Police and members of the Forensic Crime Unit seized computers from Hettenhausen’s home on June 19. Examination of the seized items and interviews led to charges filed on Oct. 24.
Police said it does not appear that there are any identified victims from the area.
Hettenhausen posted a $75,000 bond after turning himself in Friday.
