Continued work to build a new Summit Avenue Bridge, near Johnson Hill Road in Collinsville, will require the existing bridge to be closed for an estimated three months, one month longer than previously estimated.

The bridge will close on Oct. 27. Work on the bridge, which may require periodic lane closures, could continue into the spring, Director of Streets Rod Cheatham said.
When completed, the bridge will have expanded lanes and Americans with Disability Act compliant sidewalks on both sides.
