The Collinsville City Council has had two meetings scheduled since former City Clerk Cheryl Brombolich retired, and both have been either postponed or cancelled due to confusion about posting the agenda.
According to the Illinois Open Meetings Act, an agenda must be posted at the principal office of the public body 48 hours in advance of a regularly scheduled meeting. This duty has been the responsibility of the city clerk.
On the agenda for the Tuesday meeting was approval to hire a new city clerk and two deputy clerks.
The next meeting of the City Council will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 in the Council Chambers.
