The Madison County Community Development Office is now accepting applications to assist eligible renters and homeowners with the installation of energy saving measures for homes.
Assistance includes insulating attics and sidewalls, caulking, weather stripping, addressing window problems, stopping air infiltration and addressing general heating and cooling waste. The program also includes inspecting furnaces for health, safety and mechanical operation. If needed, a new furnace may be installed, the Madison County Community Development Office announced today.
Landlords are required to contribute 50 percent for all mechanical work, as well as a $150.00 assessment fee, for work done on a rental property.
