The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville wrestling program has announced the dates for its 2014 technique and competition camps, all of which will be held at the Vadalabene Center this summer.
Camps will be held June 27-29, July 10-11, and August 8-9. All three camps are open to all wrestlers ages 18 and under. For prices and registration, please visit siuewrestlingcamps.com.
The camps will be led by SIUE Head Coach Jeremy Spates, along with assistant coaches Donovan McMahill, Matt Lester, and Dillon Pousson. Current SIUE wrestlers will serve as camp clinicians as well.
A guest clinician also will be featured at all three camps.
The June 27-29 camp will include two-time NCAA Champion Teyon Ware. Ware won NCAA Division I titles in 2003 and 2005 while wrestling at Oklahoma. He is a four-time All-American, a former Big 12 champion, and a USA world team member that competed at the 2011 World Wrestling Championships.
The camp on July 10-11 will welcome four-time NCAA Champion Kyle Dake. Dake, who competed at Cornell, is the only wrestler in NCAA history to win four national championships at four different weight classes. Following the 2013 season, Dake was awarded the Dan Hodge Trophy as the nation’s best collegiate wrestler and also was named Male College Athlete of the Year by Sports Illustrated.
A guest clinician is yet to be announced for the August 8-9 camp.
