The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning from 11 p.m. Monday night until 9 a.m. on Tax Day, April 15.
Although temperatures were near 60 degrees in the early morning hours Monday, they will be dropping throughout the day, with an overnight low of 29 expected. The National Weather Service is calling for a 70 percent chance of drizzle or rain during the day, Monday.
Temperatures are expected to be in the low 40s when the Kahok baseball and softball teams take the field, weather permitting, at 4:30 p.m. Monday. The baseball team is scheduled to travel to Centralia. The softball Kahoks have a home game scheduled against East Alton-Wood River.
There is a 60 percent chance of rain, possibly mixing with snow after 8 p.m., Monday evening. Little or now snow accumulation is expected on the 25th day of spring.
The forecast high for Tuesday is 48, with an overnight low again approaching the freezing point.
