Selsius receives ETIP grant to train Illinois workers

Selsius™ Corporate & Career Training of Southwestern Illinois College has been awarded a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to help fund the employee training programs for regional companies.

The Employer Training Investment Program grant’s purpose is to provide new skills and knowledge directly related to work performance of employees.

Training employees keeps their employers competitive, helps business expand into new markets and allows companies to introduce more efficient technologies into their operations. The program can fund up to 50 percent of a company’s eligible training costs for full-time employees based in Illinois.

Qualified Selsius™ training programs include:

  • Industrial Maintenance
  • Welding, Instrumentation, Hydraulics, Rigging, Machining, CAD and Safety
  • Computer Software
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Leadership Development
  • Project Management

“Selsius has been awarded this competitive grant consistently when available,” said SelsiusTM Director Lynette Rienbolt. “It helps companies remain competitive by upgrading their employees’ skills, and it’s a great benefit to the economic development for our region.”

Grant funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Units of government, agencies, educational institutions, retail stores and healthcare facilities are not eligible.
