The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a portion of Illinois Route 159 (Vandalia Street) will be reduced to one lane Tuesday, April 1, from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. An electronic sign has also been broadcasting the message near the site for several days.

The lane restrictions will occur near Park Avenue. A flagger and traffic control devices will control two-way traffic, IDOT said.

The lane restrictions will allow a new sanitary manhole and sewer line across Vandalia to be installed.
