Anyone who has needed multiple types of maintenance work performed on their house knows that it can be cumbersome to find multiple, trustworthy companies to handle various projects. A new area company has an answer for that problem.
Payton Blaylock recently started Blaylock Maintenance Services to remove the hassle of “fighting through the yellow pages to find different companies to get bids.” Blaylock is offering the single-family homeowner what commercial properties already enjoy, one-stop shopping for maintenance, lawn care and cleaning services.
“Why not create one company that is an all-in-one company?” Blaylock said. “And, let’s take it one step further, and have a total home maintenance package.”
The company’s concept is to bring villa-style, maintenance-free living to the normal, single-family household. For a monthly fee, homeowners can receive lawn care; maid services; heating, ventilation and air conditioning service; gutter cleaning; leaf removal and snow removal. That is with the base package, upgrades can include pool service and pressure washing, among other things.
For homeowners not interested in a monthly package, Blaylock Maintenance Services offers their services individually. A full list of services can be found on their website.
With the base monthly package starting at about $150 per month, Blaylock said busy professionals who want to enjoy their free time, and elderly residents who are not able to maintain their homes, are among those he anticipates will be interested in the maintenance service.
“For some older people, their house is the important possession they have,” Blaylock said. “This allows them to keep living in their house without the burden of maintaining it.”
When researching his business concept, Blaylock said the only other company he could find offering total residential service was in Canada.
Offering services as varied as maids, plumbing and electrical, Blaylock Maintenance Services will arrange contractors when they do not have someone on staff to provide the service. All workers, even sub-contractors, Blaylock said, will be background checked and licensed where appropriate.
“We’ll have guys working for us that I would trust to go into my grandma’s house,” Blaylock said.
Blaylock Maintenance Services also provides commercial services, property preservation for foreclosure properties and general repair and maintenance for landlords.
