Collinsville Unit 10 has cancelled all after school activities for Tuesday.
Superintendent Bob Green has not yet determined if there will be school tomorrow. “We’ll have to wait and see what the weather does,” Green said. “It’ll be another sleepless night.”
The district has already cancelled school eight days this year, one more than the number of emergency days that were built into its Official School Calendar. A decision will have to be made by Feb. 21 if an Act of God day will be applied to exempt the district from the required 176 days of student attendance.
Another option is to adjust the calendar to ensure students are in attendance the legally required number of days. Green said he has been waiting to take action because he wanted to see if the weather would force more cancellations, which could alter his decision.
