Students in the Collinsville Middle School one-to-one learning pilot program gathered in the school’s cafeteria Friday afternoon to thank Scott Credit Union for supporting the program.
Scott Credit Union donated $1,000 to purchase protective bags for the students to transport their notebook computers. Jennifer Riebold, community relations representative for Scott Credit Union, said the donation was part of the non-profit’s philosophy of supporting the community.
“We like to give back, especially to education,” Riebold said.
CMS principal Kim Jackson said the protective bags are a critical part of the one-to-one learning pilot program. “Part of the success of the program is to have a uniform way of transporting the notebooks,” Jackson said. “This gives us a secure way to transport them.”
Students will be allowed to take the notebooks home for the first time on Jan. 28. A parent or guardian will be required to sign an accountability form as part of the process.
