The heavy snow that was forecast last week skipped the Collinsville area, but not this week.
Snow began falling around 9 p.m. Friday and continued through the night. Accumulation has already reached 2-3 inches, with another 1-3 inches possible.
Heavy snow was falling Saturday morning, but should stop by 10 a.m., the National Weather Service is forecasting. The high-temperature Saturday will be 34, under cloudy skies, the weather service said.
