Three Collinsville firefighters rescued a man from his burning house in the 100 block of March Drive Friday.

Lt. Eric Schrage and firefighters Chris Frawley and Mike Harris entered the house, which had fire blowing from the front, Fire Chief Mark Emert said. While fighting the fire, a search was performed of the house and a man was found lying by the back door.

The man was taken to the back yard for treatment at the scene. He was later transported to Anderson hospital via ambulance, where he is recovering.

The trio were honored with the November firefighters of the month for their actions.

The rescue was the second this year for the Collinsville Fire Department.

Preliminary investigation is that the fire was accidental.
