Updated – Four from Collinsville die in rollover SUV crash

Four of the five people who died over the weekend in Hamilton County, Ill. were from Collinsville, Illinois State Police confirmed.

Tammy Delong, 35, Lori Parker, 42, Robert Parker, 49 and Katelynn Fancher, 16, all from Collinsville, died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident at about 10:24 p.m. Saturday, police said. Delong, Lori Parker and Robert Parker were pronounced dead at the scene, as was Diana Wright, 23, of McLeansboro.

The accident occurred when Darrell Delong, 49, of Collinsville, lost control of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer he was driving. The vehicle left the road and turned over several times, police said.

Darrell Delong, Tammy Delong, Wright, Lori Parker and Fancher, a freshman at Collinsville High School, were all ejected from the vehicle. Robert Parker, the only person wearing a seatbelt, was trapped inside the vehicle.

Darrell Delong and Fancher were transported by helicopter from Hamilton County Memorial Hospital to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Fancher later died. Darrell Delong’s condition is not known.

The accident occurred on Hamilton County Road 750E, also known as Anderson School Road, approximately 3/10 of a mile north of Hamilton County Road 1000N. Police are still investigating the accident. No charges have been filed.
