Intermittent lane closures on Interstate 55/70 at Illinois Route 162 will begin immediately, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced.
Northbound lane closures will be between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. Southbound lanes will be intermittently closed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The work to replace deteriorated pavement and shoulder is expected to be completed by Dec. 31.
IDOT also announced that the left lane of Interstate 55/70 will be closed Thursday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Illinois Route 203 to the merge of interstates 55/70 and 64.
