Openings are still available for the 2 p.m. pre-production screening and investor pitch at the Miner’s Theatre Saturday for the upcoming independent film, “The Parricidal Effect.”
Independent film director and producer Ryan Davy, of South Africa, will be in Collinsville this weekend in search of investors for the film. The cast for the full length feature film includes Nathan Gamble from Dolphin Tale, The Dark Knight and The Mist; Gary Busey from Point Break; Paul Johannson from One Tree Hill; and Victoria Platt.
During the presentation, a 9-minute trailer for the film will be shown and a Letter of Interest from a film distributor, the screen play, shooting schedule, budget, art work, legal documents, sales projections and more. Every aspect a potential investor could be concerned with will be covered, Davy said.

“The Parricidal Effect” is a full length feature film which tells of a family caught in a web of conflict and corruption. For the truth to be revealed they must unearth a sinister past or they will suffer the harsh penalties from those who seek retribution. Davy likes to have a positive message in each of his films. The positive message of the film is the value of communication and love within a family.
