At least 63 employers will descend upon the Gateway Center in Collinsville Thursday with jobs to offer.
The Madison County Employment & Training Department is hosting the Jobs Plus 2013 Job Fair from 1-5 p.m. Thursday at the Gateway Center. The event will also feature several job seeker workshops. The event and parking are free to the public.
Workshops offered include:
“Job Fair 411” – Attend this workshop to learn Job Fair tips and how to develop your “One Minute Commercial”.
“Strategies for Job Seekers over 50 YEARS YOUNG” – Learn job search steps to maximize the experience of workers over 50. Listen to the presenter discuss presentation skills for applications and interviews.
“Online Job Applications; Dos and Don’ts” – Many things have changed in recent years about getting a job, and now companies are using online applications. Attend this workshop to find out the latest tips.
“Find a Job! Using Illinois WorkNet Resources to Make It Happen” – This workshop explains how you can use the many resources on Illinois WorkNet to land your next job.
“TORQ” – Learn how the free, on-line TORQ Employment Planner assists job seekers in finding a job through a simple process.
“Illinois Job Link” – IL Job Link is an internet-based job search tool that will search jobs posted in the site and all other job sites on the internet, including employer websites. Come learn how to use this valuable tool.
