Police are searching for a Madison man believed to have held two people at gunpoint in a rural Collinsville home, sexually assaulting one.
Jerry Sutt,50, is wanted on two counts of unlawful restraint and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault. Authorities believe Sutt entered the home of an acquaintance Wednesday, armed with a handgun, bound two people and sexually assaulted one.
A 49-year-old woman with a Collinsville address was awarded an order of protection against Sutt in in 2010. The same woman filed for another order of protection against Sutt, perhaps a renewal of the previous order, in August 2013. The case is still pending and it is not known if she was the victim.
The victim was transported to a St. Louis area hospital for medical treatment. She was treated and released.
Sutt, who police said has a considerable criminal history, is considered armed and dangerous. He is 6 feet tall, approximately 200 pounds, He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone encountering Sutt is encouraged not to approach him and, instead, contact local law enforcement.
