David A. McAdams, 69, of the 500 block of S. Mulberry Road, has no history of similar actions and no known medical conditions that could have contributed to his disappearance, Captain Mike Dixon of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department said.

“This is completely out of character,” Dixon said. “There is concern about his welfare, what may have led to this and where he may be.”

McAdams’ wife told police she last spoke with him at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. He left a doctor’s office at 10 a.m. and was captured on surveillance video making a transaction at Community First Bank in Fairview Heights at 11:43 a.m. McAdams was alone the time of the transaction, police said.

McAdams, who is 5-feet-11 and weighs 225 pounds, was driving his white, 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, single-cab pickup truck at the time of the bank transaction. The vehicle, with Illinois license plate 63849X, has not been located.

Anyone who believes they have seen McAdams or his vehicle, or who has information related to his disappearance, are asked to call the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at main dispatch, (618) 692-4433, the anonymous tip-Line: (618) 296-3000, or investigation: (618) 692-0871.
