Man accused of exposing himself in Fairview Heights department store

A man was arrested Monday, for the second time in three months, for exposing himself in Fairview Heights department stores.

Police were called to the Kohl’s Department store at 6109 N. Illinois St. Monday at approximately 4:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a man was walking around different departments exposing himself and masturbating. The man had left the story when police arrived, running towards the Popeyes restaurant, Fairview Heights Police said.

Responding officers noticed a man boarding a Metro bus who fit the description provided by the Kohl’s loss prevention officer. After stopping the bus, Kendall J. Collins, 21, of the 1000 block of Brookshire Court in Belleville, was taken into custody.

Collins was charged with one misdemeanor count of public indecency/sexual conduct. He is currently held at the St. Clair County Jail on $10,000 bond.

Collins was charged in October for a similar incident at the Marshalls department store in Fairview Heights. He was also charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia during the October incident. Collins’ has a pending court date for the October charges.
