Fund created for three small Collinsville children whose parents died in car crash

A fund has been created to assist three Collinsville siblings, age 7 months to 6 years, who lost their parents in a car accident early Saturday morning.

Guadalupe, 26, and Gerardo, 30, Oseguera died in a single car accident in East St. Louis. The couple had three children, Gavino, 7 months, Lilian, 4 years old and Gerardo Jr., 6 years old. Gerardo Jr. is a first grader at Renfro Elementary school. The children will be cared for by Guadalupe’s mother, Caroline Gina Rushing.

Renfro Elementary School Principal Laura Bauer said the school is collecting donations to assist Rushing. A gofundme (http://www.gofundme.com/oseguera) page has also been created to assist the family. Donations can be made directly on the website.

Visitation for Gerardo and Guadalupe will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 28 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville.  A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, also at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
