Caseyville Police searching for bank robbery suspect

Caseyville Police are searching for a woman that robbed the FCB Caseyville Bank Friday morning.

An African-American female entered the bankĀ at approximately 11:25 a.m and handed the teller a note, acting Caseyville Police Chief Frank Moore said.

“I don’t know what was in the note, but when we got there the teller was pretty distraught,” Moore said.

The suspect did not display a weapon. She took an undisclosed amount of currency before fleeing.

The Caseyville Police Department was the first on the scene. The FBI was called in and interviewed the teller, Moore said. The Illinois State Police processed the crime scene.

The suspect fled the scene in a silver Nissan Versa, which was was last spotted traveling northbound on Hollywood Heights Road, Caseyville Police said.

Police released a picture of the suspect, which is attached to this story. There were no reported injures during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Caseyville Police Department at 618-277-3500.

The Caseyville Police Department is currently following up on leads from the FBI, Moore said, but a suspect was not identified.
